March 2023: Billions Unmasked- Protective Value Found for Life Insurance Underwriting Through Laboratory Testing

Consultant Doug Ingle hosted a webinar with ExamOne to share more about these mortality value findings and delve deep into these undiagnosed conditions found only through laboratory testing.

The industry leaders, American Para Professional Systems, Clinical Reference Labs, ExamOne, and IMS Paramed, joined forces to create a robust deidentified dataset of life insurance applicants spanning the years 2015-2022 with a 18-million-record dataset. The first study showed the protective value for tobacco testing exceeded $4 billion. A second study revealed additional value associated with testing for undiagnosed diabetes and hypertension worth $2.6 billion.

September 2022: Life insurance laboratory collaboration tobacco study

The industry leaders, American Para Professional Systems, Clinical Reference Labs, ExamOne, and IMS Paramed, joined forces to create a robust deidentified dataset of life insurance applicants spanning the years 2015-2022. This combined data set revealed the tobacco misrepresentation may be costing us even more than we thought. Doug’s analysis estimates insurers might be losing up to $4 billion dollars in missed identification.
