This summer, two graduate students chose ExamOne to complete hands-on internships within our data analytics department.
Meet our ExamOne interns Michael Stern and Antonin Dauvin. Michael is a Data Science major from San Mateo, CA and Antonin is a Business Analytics major from Paris, France. The students said they selected ExamOne because of our access to expansive and interesting medical datasets.
“As data scientists, we were incredibly excited to try to unlock ExamOne’s expansive medical datasets full potential,” said Michael.
The interns had the opportunity to contribute to a project on predicting diseases from longitudinal laboratory data, with the goal of providing insurers a more accurate picture of life insurance applicants. The project was overseen by ExamOne Director of Analytics Brian Lanzrath. “It was a rewarding experience to see the interns’ enthusiasm and eagerness to increase their understanding of the subject. They approached the project as a real-life challenge that would benefit from their unique analytical perspectives,” said Brian. “Their intense level of effort was evident in the comprehensive results they presented to our ExamOne and Quest Diagnostics leadership.”
As part of the internships, Michael and Antonin visited our corporate ExamOne office in Lenexa, KS and the Quest Diagnostics headquarters in Secaucus, NJ. They also toured our working laboratories, research facilities, and participated in meetings with our management teams.
“I am immensely grateful for the opportunity and support we received during our time at ExamOne,” said Antonin.
ExamOne and Quest were honored to contribute to continuing the education of these future leaders of healthcare data science.
