The Pride flag is waving across the country in June, including proudly at many Quest Diagnostics locations. To commemorate the month that was established to recognize the impact LGBTQA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, and ally) people have had in the world, the Lenexa, KS laboratory was one of the Quest Diagnostics and ExamOne facilities that held a flag-raising and awareness event at the beginning of June.
Another reason to celebrate is the 20th anniversary of the Quest Diagnostics Pride employee group. The Quest Diagnostics Pride Employee Business Network’s goal is to help foster a culture that celebrates inclusion, diversity, and empowerment across the organization. The organization encourages education and community involvement including a national fundraising drive this summer to raise $20,000 for The Trevor Project. The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ young people under 25.
“It’s a powerful message our company sends by encouraging and empowering the importance of inclusion and diversity. I am proud to be a member of our Pride group and work with our employees to support, educate, and celebrate our similarities and differences.”
— Erik Gonzales, ExamOne Strategic Operations Manager and Pride Employee Business Network Membership Lead
This month and every day all year Quest demonstrates why it is an employer of choice for the LGBTQA community and holds a strong reputation in the LGBTQA marketplace. This year Quest Diagnostics has been named a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality again by scoring a perfect 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2021 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). It is the fifth consecutive year Quest has been honored. Quest Diagnostics and ExamOne are proud of our Pride!
